Dust-soiling to the boards and spine (darker along the spine). Bumping and/or chipping at the head, tail and corners. Some chipping/flaking along the spine. Dust-soiling and yellow age-toning to the text block edges, which are rough-cut along the bottom and fore-edges.

The binding is showing a tiny bit of separation between a couple pages, but nothing is detached and the overall binding is holding-up, if delicately in places. Several sets of pages are unopened (uncut) along the top edge. Some pages have edge-wear of small tears, chips or creases.

One page has a tear of several inches along the top margin, just nicking the text. There's foxing on the front and rear endpapers and pastedowns, with a smaller amount of foxing on some of the other pages. A beautiful work of fine printing, designed and illustrated by Eric Gill.
