A collection of Japanese and Chinese ghost tales selected and presented by Hearn. Hardcover, bound Japanese style with string ties.
Silk-covered boards with title in black on front. The book comes in a protective cloth-covered chemise with paper label and ivory closures. CONDITION: As I look at other copies of this book for sale, it seems that my copy is in much better condition than most. I would grade it as very, very, very good. The outer chemise of the protective box is just starting to split at the spine. The endpapers and title page are lightly foxed, as are some of the text pages. The book still has its glassine wrapper which has protected the binding. The silk brocade used in the binding is clean, very nice. The illustrations (especially the brightly colored ones) look great. Most of the outer wrappers seem to be in pieces. This is still functional in one piece.
