Limited Editions Club Poems of Dickinson, Longfellow, Emerson, etc. 5 VOLS
Five volumes of poetry by the Limited Editions Club, bound in leather, in slipcases. These collections of poetry by major American poets of the 19th century were issued between 1944 and 1952. They are not identical in appearance, but as you can see, the books were meant to be "companions" to each other. The binding style and size are similar and harmonious.

Each book has its own illustrator. All books were limited to 1500 copies.

All books have prices in pencil from former booksellers. The slipcases are all solid and in very good shape (the Whittier has the most signs of age). The Poems of Emily Dickinson. Signed by Sewell on colophon. Bound in black sheepskin with morocco grain.

Very, very, very good -- slight rubbing at top of bottom of spine as you can see. The Poems of Ralph Waldo Emerson. Illustrated by Richard and Doris Beer.

Signed on colophon Richard & Doris Beer. Bound in black sheepskin with morocco grain.

Near fine -- I would say "no flaws" but there is a light streak on the front cover that may be a flaw in the leather, or may be an area that got rubbed? It is far more visible in the photo than it is in real life.

Some people might not notice it. The Poems of William Cullen Bryant. Wood engravings by Thomas Nason. Signed by Nason on the colophon.

Very good -- rubbing to leather at bottom of spine and slight rubbing on edges of covers. The Poems of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Wood engravings in three colors by Boyd Hanna. Signed by Hanna on the colophon.

Bound in red sheepskin with morocco grain. The wood engravings are wonderful, mostly images of animals or natural scenes; they have offset to the opposite page. Very, very, very good -- no flaws to note other than the offsetting of the illustrations. The Poems of John Greenleaf Whittier. Signed by Holden on colophon.

Bound in dark green sheepskin (almost black, not quite) with morocco grain. Very good -- only flaw to note is that the spine is slightly faded. We pack things very carefully.
