The Limited Editions Club, New York, 1943. The Limited Editions Club was founded in 1929 by George Macy with the intent of publishing beautifully illustrated and designed classic literature for a limited number of subscribers. Much of the Clubs fame stems from its use of some of the best illustrators and artists available. Each title was uniquely designed with individualized paper and cover materials.

Number 161, September 1943 is also included (see photos). Imaginatively bound with a decorated linen center panel flanked by gilt-decorated dark sheepskin panels. The book size: 10 3/4 high x 7 1/4 wide. Condition, sun fade and wear on the first layer at the edges through use on the spine.
