This is a signed limited edition of Ulysses published by the Limited Edition Club in 1935 with a limitation of 1500 copies this is number 1073. Considered by many to be one of the most desirable illustrated books of the 20th century, this work combines the work of two of the greatest talents of the modern era. Henri Matisse website says, The illustration of James Joyce's Ulysses by Matisse may be one of the most suggestive collaborations in 20th-century literature. It was a great idea to bring them together; celebrities of the same generation, of similar virtuosity.

The 26 beautiful full-page illustrations by Matisse accompany the text of Joyces Ulysses, including six soft-ground etchings with reproductions of the sketches on blue and yellow paper. This does not have an owners stamp, or bookplate.

Missing is the slipcase and folding cover. Otherwise the book is in very good condition and complete with all of the etchings.
