Small folios, patterned paper boards with buckram spines, all but one in their original protective glassine dustwrappers (dustwrappers in varying condition, most intact, one half gone, scattered tears and edge losses).
Number 1357 of 1950 copies, designed by Bruce Rogers, printed at the press of A. Previous owner's bookplate in each volume. Each volume with its as-issued Shakespeare Commentary for that volume laid in at front (note Henry the Sixth, which is in three parts, and Henry the Fourth, which is in two parts, have the Commentary in the first volume only, as issued).Also included is the 20-page pamphlet on the Plays of William Shakespeare (laid in at front of All's Well that Ends Well, along with a news clipping that has browned the front of the Commentary for that volume).
