Fine to Like-New copy of the 1949 Limited Editions Club release of Robert Browning's narrative poem, The Ring and the Book. Signed by the artist of the drawings and engravings used to illustrate the book, Carl Schultheiss. This is number 943 of 1,500. 2 Volumes - light blue boards, red blocks with red lettering, Red spine with gold outline block with gold letters.10 1/4" high x 7 1/2" wide, 690 pages. Pictures show the actual item you will receive. The book appears unread, with tight binding and crisp corners. No wear of any kind is detected on the book.
The protective glassine is mostly intact. Paper has an even, consistent tone. This book has been properly stored indoors and away from light, in a smoke free household. The slipcase shows some scratches and light wear, and some aging to the display label. The grade of Fine applies to the books only.
We spotted slight wrinkles to one page only, most likely a production issue. Photos show a slight smudge near the spine, but this looks to be from manufacturing as well, as the color matches the print dye. This is the nicest collector's grade copy you will find.
